About This Project

Cedric Archer Playground is Stage 1 of a large scale upgrade of the popular community Cedric Archer Park in the growing town of Gracemere. Commissioned by Rockhampton Regional Council and working in closely with Urban Play, Boyds Bay Landscaping have set the benchmark high for the future stages of the park, producing a bright, safe and entertaining space for the local community.

Project key features:

  • New smart play fort
    • The smart play fort enables users to download an app of Hans Christian Andersen’s famous story books. Children can then take a story book journey and interact with the fort with different fun games.
  • A large play fort
  • A rope tower
  • A number of spinning components
  • Swing and see saw
  • Soft fall – Sand and Rubber
  • Shade sail covering
  • Concrete pathways
  • Curved Bench Seats
  • New turf to playground boundary

Overall the project went very smoothly due to the excellent communication between Rockhampton Regional Council, Urban Play and Boyds Bay Landscaping. The only issue was due to the location and level of an existing sewer manhole on site. As soon as the issue was raised several design ideas were tabled and a solution was quickly selected and the project proceeded with no delay to our program.
