About This Project

The Boyds Bay Landscaping team, working once again with Logan City Council, had the pleasure of revitalising the vast open space of Homestead Park in the Logan City suburb of Shailer Park. Having worked on several parks in the area in the past we knew the quality standard expected by our client and took every step to ensure we exceeded it. Notable elements of the project include a renovated playground, new and relocated shelters, relocated small dog off leash area and the standout piece, a brand new Futsal Court.

The first step in the completion of this project was the demolition, preservation and relocation of existing park elements to make way for the new and rejuvenated elements. Bulk earthworks, concrete slabs and pathways as well as sandstone block retaining then formed the foundations to create a new-look park. The small dog off leash area features a new airlock gate system, two rotundas, chain-link fencing, re-purposed agility elements and a security screen to protect smaller dogs from the eyes of bigger dogs as they pass. The playground offers a shaded slide, smaller child’s play area, sand play areas, climbing elements, artistic softfall designs, topped off by furniture and planting to the surrounds. The new Futsal Court features a professional play surface and goals surrounded by a chain-link fence. Around these elements are shelters and furniture to accommodate people of all ages and their pets.
