About This Project

There is consistent international evidence that children who have participated in high-quality early learning programs gain significant long-term benefits. A stimulating play space provides the building blocks for creativity, imagination and social skills and with this goal in mind Boyds Bay Landscaping brought new life to this important little part of the AB Paterson College campus. The area designed by SMEC creates safe open spaces, fun structures and vibrant colour to an ageing corner of this immaculate school.

The window for minimal site interference and optimal access came in the form of the mid-year school holidays for the college. This, however, meant the project had to be completed within a 3-week timeframe. The Early Childhood Centre itself was still operational throughout construction due to vacation care so site safety and conduct was of the utmost importance. Through the use of careful planning, excellent procurement and with great assistance from the crew from Prestige Synthetic Lawns the site was delivered on time and exceeded all expectations. The excitement from the passing children says it all, this space will serve the school well for many years to come.
